Shoreline

CLIENT – LENDLEASE

(2018 to Present – Redland City Council)

Shoreline, situated in the picturesque Redland Bay area just southeast of Brisbane, is a community development of approximately 3,000 residential lots for 10,000 residents. Led by Lendlease, a developer known for creating sustainable communities, and supported by KNg as the Principal Civil Consulting Engineers. This project involves the development of major infrastructure elements like sewage pump stations, trunk services, and significant road upgrades with 3 signalised intersections which highlights the complexity and scope of the project.

The Shoreline development has unique environmental challenges that KNg has had to overcome. The proximity of Shoreline to Moreton Bay and natural bushland conservation areas indicates the need for careful consideration of environmental constraints. Preserving and protecting these natural features is crucial for maintaining ecological balance and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the development.

One notable aspect of the project is the design of a new mangrove wetland facility intended to provide additional water treatment. Mangrove wetlands are known for their ability to act as natural filters and provide habitat for various species. Integrating such a facility into the project demonstrates a commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible development.

The completion of the first 12 residential stages and associated infrastructure shows progress in the development, and the inclusion of critical elements like 2 sewage pump stations and water treatment devices reflects a comprehensive approach to urban planning. Shoreline is a challenging project that demands a meticulous balance between advanced infrastructure design and environmental considerations. The completion of the initial phases reflects KNg’s commitment to engineering a sustainable community that harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment.
